TRIATHLON FOR THE ISLANDS
The main objective of those involved in the Galapagos Triathlon is to promote a healthy and compatible with the environment lifestyle, encouraging physical activity and using clean energy.
In Galapagos, the original forests in the upper part of the island consisted of a single species in the world with the name of Scalesia pedunculata, natural habitat of the giant tortoises.
There are also many bird species living in such habitat, such as the famous Darwin's finches, Galapagos doves, the Witch and the beautiful birds of Galapagos Petrel, which is in serious danger of extinction unless we take direct protection actions like this. These species are invaluable.
The recovery of this forest tree threatened - unique in the world will be the contribution of all those involved in the Galapagos Triathlon.
